Chipaque is a municipality in Cundinamarca (Colombia), located in the Eastern Province (Provincia de Oriente), is located 27 km from the highway  Bogotá Villavicencio.

History:
Chipaque Chibcha language means forest of our father according to the dictionary Ortegón Acosta. Not precisely where was the Aboriginal people. In 1600 the Judge Luis Enriquez added the Indians Chipaque Sucha, the founding of new Indian village was supposed to be on that date. The church building was retained by the Magistrate to Alarife Juan Enriquez de Robles in Santa Fe on May 28, 1601.


Don Bernardo Pérez Bernal Acevedo said in this town April 20, 1636 were 117 and 432 tributaries between young and old. During the visit of Gabriel de Carvajal Oidor March 1640 raised the standard of Indians, 829. On February 23, 1759 the Judge Visitor Arosteguí Joaquin came to the village of Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Chipaque, the next day underwent a description and enumeration of the natives who were 824 of these 150 tax. By order of February 27, 1759 founded the Hospital formed in the division of men and women.

During the visit of Prosecutor Moreno y Escandon of January 12, 1779 there were 922 of these 175 tax.
